With rumours surrounding an imminent re-signing of Alex Rins at Team Suzuki Ecstar growing, another name is now being linked to the other seat at the Hamamatsu factory – Jorge Lorenzo.
motorsport.es is one of those reporting the story, saying Suzuki believe their bike would fit perfectly with the riding style of five-time World Champion Lorenzo.
The story also states that there are two requirements for the Mallorcan to be back in blue, although a different shade. First, that he doesn’t find the form that saw him break the Sepang record in testing during the next three races. Second, that Lorenzo shows willingness to take a considerable pay cut from the salary he was signed up for in 2016.
Time will tell, but motorsport.es says Suzuki are willing to wait.
