Bajaj to launch ‘Dominar 400’ on Dec 15 , Officially Teased

Bajaj Auto has finally revealed the launch date of its much-anticipated motorcycle – Dominar 400 as December 15th 2016.First showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo,and initially called the Pulsar CS400,this bike will be Bajaj’s first product in this segment.The production of the much anticipated motorcycle from Bajaj Auto was started on 18th November. Confirming the launch Bajaj Auto President (Motorcycle Business) Eric Vas said,”We are delighted to announce the name of the most anticipated brand from the Bajaj auto stable. The Dominar 400 has already created a lot of excitement among bikers, which is befitting for what’s going to be one of the most path-breaking products in the history of the Indian motorcycle industry.”

Bajaj has also released a teaser of the bike that says, “The Big Bike for Big Boys.”The microsite for the Dominar 400 is also live where one can register for the exclusive preview of the motorcycle.The registered user will get a link to the live launch of the Dominar 400 on the launch day along with a limited edition brochure. They will also get an invitation for their city launch and an opportunity for a priority test ride.


The styling of the Dominar 400 remains similar to the concept.The company has carried over lots of interesting bits, such as the aggressive multi-LED headlamp unit, dual LCD instrument panel which is slightly different from the concept, mid-ship muffler, stylish alloy wheels, masculine fuel tank, while the concept had a single seat, the production bike features split seats. Overall, the styling is aggressive and gives the bike a muscular look.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a Sports Cruiser which will compete against the likes of Mahindra Mojo and Royal Enfield . Bajaj Dominar 400 is expected to be powered by a 373cc, liquid-cooled engine that with 4 valve triple spark mill and a six-speed transmission system. The engine will develop a maximum power output of 34.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm.he bike is expected to come with ABS on-board. However, it is yet to be known if the ABS will be offered as standard or optional.The Bajaj Dominar 400 is speculated to be priced around 1.6lakhs and is going to be the most powerful offering from the Bajaj stable.
